Crescent nebula

The Crescent nebula (NGC 6888), found in the constellation of Cygnus, is actually a cosmic explosion that is expanding into a bubble. The complex structure, that is almost 25 light years in size, is caused by winds from its central, bright, massive star.

Telescope: Astro-tech 65EDQ with a 0.8x focal reducer

Camera: Modified Canon Rebel Xs

Mount: Celestron Advanced VX

Exposure: Total of 3 hours (60 x 3 min subs) at ISO 1600

Filter: Celestron Light Pollution

Ambient temperature ~ 15 c
