Cocoon nebula

This is a very faint nebula in the constellation of Cygnus located at a distance of 3300 light years. What is amazing about this nebula is the mysterious dark lane that can be found north of the nebula (in the picture) amidst a very rich  gravitational field (100s of thousands of stars)! The forces causing this rift that is several light years across should be colossal! Amazing!!!!
